“Organic” label VS Wild Grown?

“Organic” label VS Wild Grown Plants – a new concept to think about…

Bulgaria is blessed with exceptional nature, which is very generous to us. There are more than 4100 higher plants (>700 remedial) and herbs growing in Bulgaria and the country is in 3rd place in the world in herbal diversity. It is the only country in the European Union that has a special Medicinal Plants Act, because only we collect wild plants in huge quantities.

There are countries with gold deposits, others with oil. Bulgaria does not have enough stocks either of gold or of oil. Our land, however, is blessed with exceptional nature, which gives us an abundance of healing plants. They are our healing gold! The Golden Mines of Bulgaria!

Most people assume organic products are the best, right?

Let’s see what the definition of Organic and Wild Grown herbs is:

Organic: The plants are cultivated by natural conditions, on unpolluted land, without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. They are grown under ideal conditions and soils for cultivation. They are being taken good care of, treated with organic pesticides, fertilized naturally, waxed when required, etc. Sounds really good, right? Yes, but the natural environmental stress is removed, lowering their benefits.

Wild Grown: These plants are grown wild in nature, without human intervention and harvested after special guidance. That’s why they are not certified by any authority. Plants growing in their natural environment face plenty of obstacles, like overly dry or excessively humid conditions, competing other plants, insects, etc. Indeed, these are the actual reasons why wild grown herbs turn out to be stronger, with greater variety of active substances, which brings the actual benefits of them.

“Wild grown” means that the herb is not farmed and is found in the wild, while Organic Certified plants are grown, cultivated, planted, but not wild.

However, as medicinal plants become more and more popular, some craft practices bear a heavy burden on wild plant species. Wild Crafts is a great way to connect with the spirit of plants and nature before we use them to produce supplements. We always harvest our herbal material from the virgin, clean, idyllic rural regions and in this way the pure natural product is the most organic as it can ever be!

However, you cannot certify wild grown herb as organic and that is why we cannot certify our extracts either.

Actually, this trend nowadays for the organic certified products is just a very big business, and in some way, it is giving benefits to the clients, but there are some cases, in which it is just not applicable.

For instance, in order to be able to certify our products, we must start cultivating our herbal material in a closed, artificial environment, making fake conditions for its growing and development, which is actually moving very far away the focus of the pure natural product.

That is why this is strongly not in-line with our understanding and attitude for such kind of products, and therefore we are not interested and we will not certify our products as “Organic”.

VEMO 99 Ltd guarantees that the herbs we use, in order to produce our extracts are grown in ecologically clean areas, which provides for the high-quality products that we manufacture. Our dietary supplements are based on herbal extracts, that we manufacture ourselves. They can be made from one specific herb, or can contain a combination of rare herbal plants especially selected to synergistically complement each other.

We are connected with all living beings. Adding some spirituality during processing is a good way to honor the plants. Show respect and gratitude to the plant that has sacrificed itself to create a good health prevention by contacting the plant, asking for permission and offer thanks.

At the end of the day, the true question is: What would you personally prefer – artificially cultivated “organic” herb or grown in nature, harvested from the idyllic mountain regions of our extraordinary wild-land?

For us the answer is simple – we prefer to take all the raw material from “Mother Nature”, in the same way it was given to us thousands of years ago!
