From Herbs Gathering to Proper Packaging
Selection of the Best Raw Herbs
The production of any high-quality product begins with the selection of the right raw material. Our years of experience and many studies show that the best herb for our purposes is wild-grown. This means that the herb is not cultivated and is harvested by hand, directly from nature. The herbs in VemoHerb® nutritional supplements grow in ecologically clean, idyllic, provincial regions of Bulgaria. They are collected at a certain time of the year in a specific phase of their growth, when the bioactive substances in their composition are the most saturated and potent.
Drying Technology
We do not rush to dry the collected herbal material directly under the rays of the sun. The herb should be dried in the shade to preserve its beneficial properties. We are extremely careful not to spoil the precious raw material.
Inspection and Control
To assess the quality of the collected herb, we use a specific laboratory method. Thus, we guarantee that the herb contains all the necessary active substances in optimal quantities. Generally speaking, we check that the herb is good enough to be used in VemoHerb premium products.
Extraction of the Active Substances
Our modern extraction factory is located in a pure provincial area - the town of Knezha. Here we apply a unique know-how technology developed and perfected over the past 20 years to produce a highly-purified and concentrated extract. The dried herb must be processed into a dry extract. The production process is extremely complex, with multiple preparation steps and over a dozen extractions to ensure not only the maximum content of active ingredients, but also to purify the product from all accompanying substances that can reduce the beneficial effect of the extract. For example, for our world-famous Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris extract, at the end of production we reach an extraction ratio of 1:50, i.e. we produce 1 kg of extract from 50 kg of dry herb!
Analyzing and Standardizing
We perform laboratory analyzes on each batch to ensure a constant and optimal content of active substances that does not change from batch to batch. For example, the Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris extract is standardized to 60% furostanol saponins, determined as protodioscin, using the Bulgarian spectrophotometric methodology. Another interesting feature and one of the secrets of the Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris extract is the synergistic effect of the entire group of furostanol saponins determined by this methodology. We standardize the extract on a whole group basis, not just the protodioscin compound. The use of a quality and concentrated extract allows us to determine working doses in adequate quantities.
Encapsulation and Packaging
Since our main goal is to satisfy all the needs of our customers, we encapsulate the extracts in VCaps Plus capsules. It is a vegetarian capsule approved by vegan and vegetarian associations, Halal and Kosher certified, GMO-free. We pack the capsules in vials, sealing the neck to keep the product fresh.
