Benefits of Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris based on scientific studies
Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris is a herbal plant, which is part of Zygophyllaceae family. According to a study [1] from the Institute of animal science in Kostinbrod, Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Tribulus Terestris extract manufactured by VEMO Ltd helps the sperm quality in bulls.* They have examined the blood biochemical changes and testosterone levels.
The testosterone is an anabolic hormone that shows an important role in the development and renovation of muscle tissue in the human body. For the study, 35 males were treated with the extract. At the study’s end, those who received 2,5 mg/kg body weight Tribulus showed the maximum weight gain and normal development of the structures in the testis and epididymis.* According to a study from Simanainen (2008) the testicular weight reflects the variation of the testosterone levels [4].
Additionally, an investigation [5,6] on the effect of Bulgarian Tribulus Terestris extract (produced by VEMO Ltd) as a growth promoter in rabbits was published from the Institute of Animal Science, Kostinbrod, Bulgaria and showed that the addition of the extract in growing rabbits led to an improvement in growth intensity with 7 up to 11%.* Male rabbits reached a weight gain with 18% more than the control group. Female rabbits respond to lower concentrations. A daily dose of 2.5 mg/kg led to an increase in growth intensity with 13%.
